ROXBURY, NJ (January 14, 2021) – Roxbury High School’s yearbook design team takes top honors once again. Its 2020 Yearbook publication, “Home Grown” was awarded first place gold award in the Garden State Scholastic Press Association’s annual yearbook contest.

ROXBURY, NJ (January 8, 2021) – Leading up to the holidays, the first graders at Jefferson Elementary School in Barbara Derrick’s class put out a call for hats, gloves, scarves, and socks for Roxbury Social Services. Their “First Grade Giving Tree” community service project a success according to Derrick.

ROXBURY, NJ (December 21, 2020) – 552 students from 50 states and territories were selected to perform in the National Online Concert during Music In Our Schools Month. During the 2019-20 school year, along with other accomplished music students across the United States and overseas in military base schools, Zachary Solano from Roxbury High School practiced with the dedication to gain a chair or part in his local, district, and state music honor ensembles.

They’ve been unused, overgrown, and crumbling eyesores for years, but soon the former tennis courts between Lincoln-Roosevelt School and Franklin School in Succasunna will be removed and replaced with pavilions for outdoor classrooms and other uses.

At its monthly Virtual Coffee Chat on Wednesday, December 16, the Roxbury Area Chamber of Commerce awarded The Earl J. Chrystal Memorial Business Person of the Year Award not to a business owner, but to the Program Coordinator for adults at the Roxbury Public Library, Karen Cerreta.

ROXBURY, NJ (December 9, 2020) – Franklin Elementary School in Roxbury Township received an unexpected donation this afternoon of 180 student supply kits from the local Staples store in Succasunna. Each care package included a pack of Crayola colored pencils, a pack of Crayola crayons, a Staples 2-pocket folder, a 2 oz. hand sanitizer, and a 3-pack of pink erasers, valued at approximately $5 a care package.
