Howard Kaplan the owner of “Small Fries – BBQ & Grill” has set the opening date of February 20, 2020, for the new restaurant opening at 22 Lakeside Blvd, Hopatcong, NJ 07843.

As covered in our last article “Great News – Hopatcong gains a new BBQ Restaurant”, the new owner is a seasoned restaurateur and is opening a full BBQ restaurant where local residents will have selections from Beef, Chicken, Pork as well as, Hot Dogs, Hamburgers and Sliders. Sides include Onion Rings, French Fries, Salads, Corn on the Cob and many others.

“I’m impressed with the number of people that have already stopped into the restaurant just to talk and wish us good luck. I look forward to the opening day and the chance to serve the communities around the lake.” Stated Howard.

The restaurant has received all of the necessary approvals and is just finishing up a few things before the opening on February 20, 2020, starting at 11:00 AM.

The Mystery of Sign Revealed:

Social Media has been buzzing about the word “Barbaque” on the sign, with the Hopatcong Online Facebook Group being the first to point out that this spelling is French for “Meat.” barbaque f (plural barbaques). (France, slang) meat.

“Actually, the sign was supposed was to read Small Fries BBQ & Grill, which is my legal name for the restaurant, and it was changed somewhere in the process.”  Stated Howard. “I appreciate everyone for pointing this out, and the sign will be replaced.”
