Lake Hopatcong Foundation will focus on children’s educational endeavors for this year’s Giving Tuesday (#givingtuesday), a global day dedicated to giving back.

LAKE HOPATCONG, NJ (October 25, 2016) — The Lake Hopatcong Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit is hosting their second LHF Night Out of 2016 on November 6 at Upstream Grille (161 Route 181, Lake Hopatcong, NJ). The evening is a celebration to enjoy great food and live music with 15% of the evening’s food proceeds from 4pm to 9:30pm being donated back to the Lake Hopatcong Foundation. Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Bob Martin today placed 14 counties encompassing the northern, central and northern coastal areas of New Jersey under a drought warning due to ongoing precipitation deficits and deteriorating water-supply conditions, particularly storage levels in reservoirs.
As we are ending the boating season for 2016, the level of the lake has dropped to its lowest level of the year. At just 7.72 feet we are reaching the point where boats have difficulty getting in and out of the docks.
The Hopatcong Grand Prix Race was held this last Sunday, September 25th and the crowd was amazed by the speed of the boats, the level of the competition and the overall venue offered at Lake Forest Yacht Club. As the boats race by the shore at sometimes faster than 90 MPH, the wake almost looks like smoke on the water.
