With no St. Patrick's Day Parade in Lake Hopatcong region, you may be interested in the Newton Fire Department’s large St. Patrick’s Day Parade that will be held on March 21, 2020.

The parade will feature nearly 100 units including Veterans and Active Members of the Armed Services, Police, Fire and EMS, elected officials, bands, floats, Irish Step Dancers, Community Organizations, local schools, accompanying service and antique vehicles, and a variety of pets. There will also be Irish theme characters and sweets and other free treats for children.

The parade begins at 11 a.m. The parade starts at lower Spring Street, heading up and making right down Moran Street and ends at Memory Park. Floats must enter from Diller Ave onto lower Spring St. and must be in place by 9:30 am. Walking participates must arrive before 10:45 am.

We are pleased to announce that Mark Hontz will again be our Parade M.C. Mark is a favorite of the spectators and Parade participants alike. He has a pleasant way of warming up the crowd with his wit, Celtic songs and self-accompaniment on his bagpipes; not to mention Mark’s charming commentary as the Parade units pass by the reviewing stand on Spring Street.

If your group or organization is interested in joining the parade, please complete a parade application and return it to the Newton Fire Department or the Town of Newton no later than March 7th.
