WILD WEST CITY TO HIGHLIGHT CIVIL WAR
The shelling of Fort Sumter on April 12, 1861 marked the beginning of the American Civil War. One hundred and sixty years later Wild West City will be highlighting the War of the States on a semi-regular basis starting in May with periodic encampments by the 27th Regiment New Jersey Volunteer reenactors.
Wild West City will take visitors back in time a little further, in recognition of the anniversary of the American Civil War. The 27th regiment will present Wild West City guests with an interactive opportunity to gain insight into this time period. Wild West City visitors are welcome to talk with the soldiers and other participants to learn about the hardships of war in the 1860's. All COVID-related health precautions remain in effect until further notice, including mask wearing and a horse's length social distancing policy.
