Free Food Distribution by Roxbury: Kiwanis Club - Registration Required

The new Kiwanis Club of Greater Roxbury has planned another free food distribution for Sunday, March 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Kiwanis Park, 9 Makin Lane, Succasunna. 


With a generous donation from Paul Bellardini of Luigi’s Pizza, Kiwanis Club of Greater Roxbury will be able to distribute food to over 250 families.

So far Kiwanis Club of Greater Roxbury distributed 4,000 pounds in December and another 7,000 pounds in February.

Luck of the IrishWith his motivation, they will be distributing over 10,000 pounds of food containing canned Food, Fresh Produce, and Groceries to local residents. To register to receive free food visit www.roxburykiwanis.org/food.

“The USDA estimates that in 2018, about 774,860 people, including 219,760 children, in New Jersey was food insecure. That means 1 in 11 individuals (8.7%) and 1 in 9 children (11.3%) lives in homes without consistent access to adequate food for everyone to live healthy, active lives. These numbers have increased drastically with families struggling during the pandemic” said Cain Pope.

Kiwanis Club of Greater Roxbury has coordinated with other clubs throughout New Jersey during this pandemic.  So far Lenape Valley Kiwanis Club, Tri-Town Kiwanis Club, Greater Parsippany Kiwanis Club, South Orange Maplewood Kiwanis Club has joined in this effort.  Also in March Asbury Park Kiwanis Club, Marlton Kiwanis Club, Bloomfield Kiwanis Club, and Clifton Kiwanis Club will join in and distribute food in their communities.

Landing Resident, Cain Pope, has been very instrumental in forming this new Kiwanis Club to serve the residents of Roxbury, Ledgewood, Succasunna, Kenvil, Mount Arlington, Landing. He has been able to enlist 21 other volunteers to join him in his future efforts.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.

Masks are required and social distancing must be adhered to.
