Congratulations to Lincoln/Roosevelt Sixth-Graders, Antonio Coe and Justin Masi. These two students, along with over a hundred other talented musicians from the North Jersey area participated in the North Jersey School Music Association (NJSMA) Elementary Honors Band concert at South Orange Middle School on Saturday, May 5th.

Antonio and Justin put in a lot of hard work practicing for this event and spent all day rehearsing until their afternoon concert.

This is the first time any students from Lincoln/Roosevelt School have participated in this event.

Band directors, Kate Katz and Ray Henricksen shared, “These students did a phenomenal job and we’re very proud!”

The NJSMA seventh annual Elementary Honors Band Festival is an event that provides sixth grade students the opportunity to participate in a region ensemble. All students are sponsored through nomination, not by audition, by the sponsoring band director, who must be present throughout the day of the festival.
