The New Jersey Music Educators Association held its annual NJ All-State Band auditions on January 20, 2018, where students from every county in NJ competed to earn a seat in one of two honor bands.

In order to be eligible to audition, students must first earn a place in their respective Region Bands.

Six students from Roxbury High School were accepted into one of the ensembles. They will participate in rehearsals at Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts before putting on a concert at the beautiful New Jersey Performing Art Center located in Newark.

The students who made the Wind Ensemble are seniors Kristin Andlauer (2nd overall French Horn) and Kathleen Walsh (2nd overall Euphonium).

The students who made the Symphonic Band are Kaitlyn Winters (French Horn, Grade 11), Meghan Spino (1st Chair Tuba, Grade 12), Mathew Ehrenberg (Trombone, Grade 11), and Jonah Nack (2nd overall Timpani, Grade 12).

Congratulations to all students who auditioned and we wish the six RHS participants a great performance!
