By Holly Odgers (LHF) - Are you a student in grades 2-12?… Do you live in one of the four towns surrounding Lake Hopatcong – Hopatcong, Jefferson, Mt. Arlington or Roxbury?… Are you interested in entering a poster contest about watershed protection?…

If you answered yes to all of these questions, you have the chance to win DOUBLE the county cash prize if you are chosen as a winner because the LHF will be matching the county prizes awarded to students that live in the four Lake Hopatcong towns!

The Lake Hopatcong Foundation is keenly aware that water has an enormous impact on our environment and our economy, as well as on our community. We are dedicated to the education of our youth in water ecology and watershed protection.  To that effort, we are helping to spread the word about the “Watersheds: Our Water, Our Home” poster contest sponsored by the New Jersey Association of Conservation Districts. Designing a poster and researching the theme is a great educational tool that can give students a voice in their communities about important conservation issues.

The contest is open to students in grades 2-12 and submissions must be made through the student’s County Soil Conservation District Office. County prizes range from $15 up to $100 and the LHF will match county prizes awarded to any participating students in the four surrounding Lake Hopatcong towns.

Visit the Lake Hopatcong Foundation site for more information.
