Hopatcong Land Use Board; Surprise announcement of a meeting on Atkins/Hopatcong, Block 10712 Lots 38 & 48

According to the normal schedule of the Land Use Board, they were not to meet until September 6, 2016.  Therefore the surprise announcement of a meeting that was posted on Friday August 26, 2016, to discuss Atkins/Hopatcong, requesting a plan LLC Block 10712 Lots 38 & 48 Lawrie Ave is a surprise to most residents.

While they indicate that notices have been sent to the New Jersey Herald and the New Jersey Sunday Herald, we were unable to find the notices. (searched site for Hopatcong Land Use Board, Atkins)

Therefore, please be advised that on August 30, 2016, there will be a public hearing at 7:30 PM at the Municipal Building at 111 River Styx Rd. Hopatcong.


1. Atkins/Hopatcong, LLC Block 10712 Lots 38 & 48 Lawrie Ave

Applicant is requesting an amended preliminary and final site plan approval with bulk variance relief in the R-1A zone district, and is currently approved to be redeveloped with thirty-five multi-family market rate residential units with access from Lawrie Avenue & West Shore Avenue. This application seeks to relocate two of the buildings located on the northerly side of the property (containing a total of seven units) to the southerly side of the property. The total overall residential unit count will remain at thirty-five, any additional variances required from the Board.
