Beauty and the Beast Storyline:
Having lived a life in selfishness, young Prince Adam is cursed by a mysterious enchantress to having the appearance of a monstrous beast. His only hope is to learn to love a young woman and earn her love in return in order to redeem himself. Ten years later, his chance shows itself when a young maiden named Belle offers to take her ill father Maurice's place as his prisoner. With help from the castle's enchanted staff, Belle learns to appreciate her captor and immediately falls in love with him. Back in the village however, unscrupulous hunter Gaston has his own plans for Belle.
Once again, these productions by the Hopatcong Drama Club are a great night out and fun for the entire family.
Professionalism assisted by Broadway Actor:
On April 26, 2022, Chris Monteleone a professional theatrical actor who played Gaston in Beauty and the Beast (Disney) on Broadway, stopped at Hopatcong Schools to work with the Drama Club to perfect the upcoming school play Beauty and the Beast.
During his visit, the actor of 27 years bestowed his knowledge to the students to fine-tune their already hard work ensuring they can take it to the next level for this performance.
As always, under the leadership of Mrs. Batche, these performances from the Hopatcong Drama Club always provide great family entertainment. The students work for over 3 months on their own time, and handle everything from building the set, setup, production staff and of course the actors in the play.
