More than just an article of clothing, your coat can open opportunities for someone who needs one.
As of writing of this article Mount Arlington is the only registered drop-off center in our area, so regardless of the region you line in, please consider dropping off any unused coats at the Mount Arlington Borough Hall.
More about NJ Cares Coat Drive
You can enable a job-seeker to continue his search during the winter. You can enable a student to focus on her studies in a cold classroom. Or you can help a senior go out for medication in a storm. What to you is a coat hanging in the back of your closet can be a life-changing support for someone in need.
Jersey Cares plans to collect and distribute more than 30,000 “gently used” winter coats to men, women and children in need throughout New Jersey through the 21st Annual Jersey Cares Coat Drive.
Over the past twenty years, Jersey Cares has collected, sorted and distributed more than 500,000 coats to New Jersey residents through our annual coat drive. Companies, churches, fire departments, police stations, schools and other organizations will set up sites across the state to collect coats and then deliver them to the nearest central drop-off point. Jersey Cares volunteers will then organize the donated coats at the central drop-off point and bag them for pick-up. Pre-approved nonprofit organizations will then pick up their coats and distribute them to people in need.
Donating Coats: Coats may be dropped off between November 1, 2017, and December 11, 2017, at Mount Arlington Borough Hall 419 Howard Boulevard, Mount Arlington New Jersey 07856.
Many collection sites are not prepared for bulk coat donations. If you have more than ten coats to donate, please call ahead or consider registering your own collection and scheduling a delivery to one of our central drop-off points.
