The Roxbury Township Police Department is assisting Roxbury Social Services in hosting a Township Thanksgiving Food Drive. Throughout November Roxbury residents will have the opportunity to donate nonperishable items at the police department.
The food pantry is extremely low of supplies and is in desperate need of donations. The day before Thanksgiving the food will be donated to Roxbury' Social Services to assist low-income working families, seniors and people with disabilities, living on fixed incomes. The food pantry exists solely on the generous donations from individuals and local businesses. Many individuals and families in our Township rely on social services and our food pantry’. Any donations are welcome.
In addition, the Thanksgiving Holiday is a great time to educate your children about taking an active role in their community by helping to fight hunger. If your child brings in items to the police department, they will become a Fighting Hunger' Hero. They will have their picture taken with an officer and it will be posted on our Face book page. While supplies last, each child will receive a T-Shirt and they may be picked to receive a tour of the police department.
