Boating Safety First is offering a course and exam on Sunday September 19th, 2021 sponsored by the Garden State Yacht Club to obtain the NJ Boating Safety Certificate (NJ BSC) to operate a Power Boat/PWC (Jet Ski) legally on NJ inland waterways. Newton, NJ. (September 8, 2021) - Family Promise of Sussex County is working with Walgreens in Newton to offer free flu vaccines to community members.
Project Self-Sufficiency’s mobile services vehicle, PSS Journey, has returned to the road after a year-long hiatus due to the public health crisis. This year, the RV will be joined by the agency’s mobile food delivery van, The Food Project, with regularly scheduled visits to Franklin, Hopatcong, Netcong, Sussex, and Vernon. Individuals and families are encouraged to check the Project Self-Sufficiency website, or their own municipal websites, for the itinerary.
Newton, NJ (September 13, 2021) - Teens and adults are invited to learn about the prevention of child sexual assault at free online training sessions offered on the third Tuesday of each month; the next session will be held September 21st, 3:00 p.m.
Learn how to grow a multitude of different herbs both perennial and annual either from seeds or plants.
You will be shown different methods of preserving your herbs so you can continue to enjoy them throughout the winter. The proper way to winterize your herbs in your garden as well as those that can be grown indoors will be discussed. After this presentation, buying herbs at the grocery store will be a distant memory.

The Borough of Hopatcong is holding its annual Fall litter clean-up day on September 25th, 2021, from 9am to 12pm. Volunteers will meet on the Borough Hall Parking Lot, corner of Hopatchung and River Styx Road, for a brief orientation and to collect gloves and bags for their assignments.
The 8th Annual Roxbury Community Yard & Craft Sale at Horseshoe Lake will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021.
This rain or shine event will run from 9 a.m. through 3 p.m. and provide one-stop shopping right at the Horseshoe Lake pavilion area (far left rear of the park).
The Hopatcong Marketplace is returning after an extraordinarily first year in 2020, where the event gained recognition across the State, as the Largest in Sussex County. This year for 2021 they are expanding the days, space, dining area with many several events and entertainment throughout the season.
The Lake Hopatcong Foundation, in cooperation with Musconetcong Watershed Association, will host a sightseeing cruise on the LHF Floating Classroom followed by a hike along the Morris Canal Towpath to discover the history of Lake Hopatcong and the Morris Canal.
It’s that time again… for the Hopatcong PBA 149 Food Truck and Music Fest that has grown into a major Lake Hopatcong event! And this year they are hosting their archrivals the aka. “the Hot Rodders”, that are known for zipping around Lake Hopatcong leaving rubber on the road.
Gordon brings that sound - and a sense of rockabilly history - to the Stanhope House on Saturday Sept. 25. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
