LHF Lake Loop 2018: Bike Ride

The bike course will go clockwise around the lake and consist of approximately 20 miles of rolling terrain. This is a great course for experienced cyclists, weekend warriors or riders who want to stretch their legs and enjoy the ride.

As the name suggests, this route loops the lake and offers many lake views that you can truly appreciate from a bike. Along the way you can also appreciate some of the amazing homes and historic sites as you ride. This course is not flat but, there are no significant hills that might deter those looking for an enjoyable ride.

While Lake Loop is a Ride, not a Race, the event offers some competitive challenges.  The timed climbs represent the most significant climbs on the routes. We will be using Strava to track top finishers of the hill climbs on the bike route.  If you would like to participate Download the Strava app on your phone and join the Lake Loop group on event day.  From the data collected in Strava we will award prizes to the top finishers.

Strava turns every iPhone and Android into a sophisticated running and cycling computer (and we work with your GPS watches and head units, too). Start Strava before an activity and you can track your favorite performance stats, and afterwards, dive deep into your data.

If you are an experienced cyclist who is looking for more of a challenge, the 40- and 62-mile courses include a hilly extension added to the 20-mile course. You’ll enjoy the same amazing scenery while challenging yourself with the additional mileage as well as the more challenging terrain.

Maps, cue sheets, stocked rest stops, SAG support and fully marked routes provided. No trikes or training wheeled bicycles allowed. Helmets are required.


62-mile bike course – 8:00 am

40-mile bike course – 8:30 am

20-mile bike course – 9:00 am

Trophies for top finishers

Trophies will be awarded in the trail run and bike events.  Strava will be used to track top finishers of the hill climbs on the bike route.  Download the Strava app on your phone and join the Lake Loop group on event day.  The run will be timed start to finish, with awards presented to the top finishers of the 5k.

Fundraise for the Cause

After you’ve completed the registration process, a fundraising page will automatically be created for you.  Post your fundraising page on social media and send it to friends, family and colleagues to encourage them to help you reach your goal.  Earn incentives for reaching fundraising goals starting at $100. Become a Lake Loop VIP when you raise $500 or more!  If you have chosen the ‘Bike, Run, Paddle for the Cause’ zero registration fee option, you will have a $50 fundraising minimum that you will need to meet prior to the event.  All other registration types do NOT have fundraising minimum requirements.
